The BMf was formally known as Bristol Music Foundation.
The Bristol Music Foundation, as the BMf, worked from 2006 to connect musicians and music businesses from Bristol and across the South West of England with national trade bodies, funders, and a number of international trade opportunities.
Following the cuts in funding to the Creative Industries, and in particular the Music Development Agencies, the Bristol Music Foundation was eventually forced to close in March 2013.
In its place, and following consultation across the region and the online ‘Music To Market’ survey it was decided to move all regional, national and global activity of the BMf into a new organisation based more centrally within the region.
That organisation is currently in development and is Music South West. It can be visited by clicking here
